FULL EXPERT REPORTS
Full reports are suitable for disclosure.
LIABILITY & CAUSATION – 10 hours
CONDITION & PROGNOSIS - 10 hours
CAUSATION, CONDITION & PROGNOSIS – 15 hours
Queries arising from the report are dealt with free – up to 1 hour. Subsequent time spent on queries is charged at the hourly rate, charged in ½ hr units.
PRELIMINARY SCREENING REPORT (NOT FOR DISCLOSURE)
2 pages of A4 - not for disclosure, and subject to the reservation that all notes have not been reviewed. Subsequent queries at hourly rate (charged in ½ hr units).
ATTENDANCE AT CONFERENCE WITH COUNSEL
Charged at hourly rate (time charged includes travel time).
EXPERTS’ CONFERENCE
Preparation (up to 2 hrs), discussion (up to 2 hrs), drafting and editing of responses (up to 2 hrs).
ATTENDANCE AT COURT
Professor Allen-Mersh requires six weeks’ notice of Court dates in order that he can clear his diary of clinical commitments for attendance at Court. Once these clinical commitments are cancelled they cannot be reinstated at short notice. A cancellation fee is payable in the event of cancellation at less than six weeks’ notice. Travel time is charged per hour; fares at first class rate.
RECORDS
Medical records should be provided electronically via secure file sharing websites, or paper records can be sent to us via Royal Mail signed for services. It is helpful if the records are paginated and sent with an index. The records will be securely disposed of at 6 months from our last correspondence concerning the case.
VISITS TO CLAIMANT
If a Claimant requires a home visit or prison visit this is arranged on a weekday. 1st class travel tickets and travelling time (at hourly rate) in addition to the report fee are charged.
PAYMENT TERMS
Payment is required within three months from date of invoice. We do not accept deferred payments or conditional fee agreements. Credit control after a 3-month payment period will incur a 10% surcharge. VAT is charged at 20%.
We require confirmation of an obligation for fee payment, either from the instructing solicitor or a related case management organisation. If fee payment obligation is from the client/claimant then the full cost of the report to be paid in advance.
