On 22nd January 2020 Professor Allen-Mersh attended the APIL conference on Legal Training for Expert Witnesses: Court Proceedings and Trial.

The waiting time for a medico-legal appointment is currently 13 weeks, due to work commitments and seasonal holidays.

On 25th November Professor Allen-Mersh attended the Royal Society of Medicine for a talk entitled “Cancer control in low and middle income countries: New solutions to evolving challenges”. A multidisciplinary faculty of prominent speakers from around the globe discussed the importance of effective cancer control in low and middle-income countries and highlighted the magnitude of the disparities and issues that currently exist.

The current waiting time for medico-legal appointments at the Bupa Cromwell Hospital in London is currently 7 weeks. Reports can usually be provided within 2 weeks of the appointment.

For full reports not requiring appointments, the waiting time is currently 6 weeks from receipt of all documentation.

Urgent reports not requiring an appointment can be completed within 2 weeks of receipt of all documentation.

On 24th September Professor Allen-Mersh led a surgical skills teaching session in endoanal anastomosis, laparoscopic mesh placement and fixation (in a trans-abdominal preperitoneal hernia scenario) with laparoscopic suturing.
